Inventory of Choices / Inventar der Möglichkeiten

In this workshop, I will share with you my current research, „Inventory of Choices“; a pool of tools, ways of working, and inspirations I have accumulated over the years.
This toolbox allows me to analyze in-depth the intuition behind my choices and to create a compass in my everyday practice. During the workshop, I’ll introduce you to a few of these tools, and translate them into short choreographic actions. First, by using tasks for improvisation and later transforming them into a short movement sequence. In the second part of the workshop, you will be invited to create your own tools and compose them into a short performance. In the third and last part of the workshop, you will be invited to use tools created by your colleagues that inspired you. These borrowed tools will then become the basis of your own movement composition.

Reut Shemesh, geboren und aufgewachsen in Israel, arbeitet als Tänzerin und Choreographin in den Bereichen zeitgenössischer Tanz, und experimenteller Film. Sie erhielt ihren BA vom ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnheim (NL) und der KHM in Köln (DE). Ihre Arbeiten wurden an internationalen Veranstaltungsorten gezeigt, u.a. tanzhaus nrw Düsseldorf, Kampnagel Hamburg, Tanzhaus Zürich, Suzanne Dellal Center Tel Aviv, Jüdisches Museum Berlin, Art Cologne und Theatre Lab NYC.  2016 Auszeichnung mit dem Kölner Tanztheaterpreis für „LEVIAH“.  Gastdozenturen an verschiedenen Hochschulen und Universitäten in NRW. Die aktuelle Arbeit „Bad Mothers“ im Theater Oberhausen war ihre erste choreographische Auftragsarbeit für ein Schauspielensemble an einem Stadttheater.
